New beginnings are in the air!

When you are on the verge of creating something new is often the time when old fears, habits and reaction styles come roaring to the forefront. Change, even positive change often feels risky to our habit loving subconscious.

I can tell by your e-mails that many of you are about to make wonderful changes to your lives, ones that you have spent years building up to ( a shout out to Zuri here). I want to encourage you to join your energy with our Circle (lauradayintuit@twitter) to use the power and integrity of working as one, in the one energy we all share, to transcend the old and allow yourself to walk into your New Reality. The more that you can see, feel, taste, smell and hear the bond of healing we share the more supported you will be in your changes. Sometimes the focus and effort of making a change happen gets in the way of allowing it to happen. Every once in a while simply hand your goals and challenges to our Circle and allow us to work for you as you place your attention on noticing the change.

Times of change are paradoxically not always times to be forceful in your presentation. Often times of change require you to watch, listen and learn, to take a cue from your changing environment, allowing yourself to be mentored by life. Practice taking a beat before responding and examining your responses before presenting them.

In over thirty years of practice as an intuitive and a healer I have first hand experience of the value of working as a group. When you consciously enter The Circle the pattern of your goals touches everyone in the Circle as well as everyone connected to them and everyone connected to … and so on and so on. It is an infinitely powerful and effective process. In this same manner , you, as part of the Circle, are an agent in everyones healing even if you are not consciously aware of how you are impacting their New Reality.

I am always grateful to have our Circle to support me through times of change and to keep the opportunities flowing when I have moments of stagnation and despair.

As Spring approaches let us put our focus on connecting, in The Circle, and in our daily lives with the people, ideas and opportunities in our environment. Together this Spring we welcome change by being responsive to it in a way that creates our New Reality and a healing for us all.

TOGETHER WE ARE STRONG!

I am looking forward to your comments on this site and, as always, you can e-mail me directly at healingday@aol.com

The Esalen Institute Weekend Intensive is scheduled for August this year and will soon be up on their site. Boot Camp enrollment for Fall 2014 is up on www.practicalintuition.com

I ask you to keep my New Reality and my family in your healing thoughts. Let us know that you are engaged in our Circle by posting comments and spreading the word! This Spring I encourage you to hone your intuitive skills with HOW TO RULE THE WORLD FROM YOUR COUCH. Your questions and comments on the victories and difficulties with your intuitive process help us all (myself included) when you post them!

Love,

Laura

Thank you for the shout out! I had to be backed against a wall to make this change, going to school to become a therapist (I just applied,) but it feels like it’s for the better and will give me a foundation to support my NR. Love and joy to everyone here!

I think the reason I trusted you, Laura, was because of your acknowledgement of road blocks. They happen so often; other paradigms seem to ignore them, or imply that if you wish hard enough, or right enough, they’ll go away. They end up making me feel like I’m doing it (creative visualization) “wrong”. Because of you, I know they are all part of the journey. BTW – I am currently “circling it up” on new employment opportunity. Any well-wishes will be greatly appreciated!

Hello! Since tapping into my intuition last summer, and noticing mostly synchronicities here and there, I feel a bit torn. Part of me feels like my dream is way too outlandish and grand, and part of me feels on the very verge of great change. I’ve taken breaks, thinking maybe I’m trying too hard. Aarrghhh! I’ll check in on this Circle – perhaps focusing on others here will be a good distraction while I let the New Reality come to me. But I will say, this exploration has really piqued my curiosity about so many things, historical and otherwise. Thank you!

I love to hear this, that you are curious! That expansion of desire and consciousness only leads to good things. No dream is too outlandish and grand as long as you are also taking care of your day to day earth reality along the way!

I realized my new reality (a new job — after unemployment– for which I had to reinvent myself) last year after doing Circle work for at least six months. I continue to enter the divine Circle every morning and express gratitude for my new Reality, that I might continue to do right and do good. I never take this New Reality for granted. Thank you for introducing me to your work, which (not surprisingly) jumped out at me at my local library during a time of deep despair . . .

I had my NR realized over a year ago to be with the perfect partner for me, and I am. I have this amazing community of love and friends. This year, I wanted to have coherence and know that I can have both love and a good career. I haved focused on my job and getting paid to do something I love.
After over two years of looking, I found a job that pays better than my minimum wage job, and I took it! However, I am so lost on my actual purpose. I feel miserable waking up to go to work now. I got this job while connecting to the circle, so it must be the next right step?
I’m confused and grateful at the same time 🙂
    Love,

There is no “must be”. Sometimes The Circle offers us options so that we can try them out and move on from them knowing that they are not what we want. You make it sound as if The Circle has “placed” you somewhere where you must stay. Use the new financial security to do/study/be something you love. Life is constant chance. You sound as if you are someone who has strength and patience and those people always prevail once they know what they want!

My ‘New reality’ seems to be taking forever. It’s getting to the point where I’m getting very frustrated and sad. I “know better” but sometimes I wonder if I am kidding myself. It is my love for my ‘new reality’ that keeps me going but how do you deal with the moments when it feels like everyone is progressing but you? How do you ‘speed up the magic’ so to speak? Thank you for any advice Laura and Circle!

I have been there. Here are some suggestions.
      1) Have other people in The Circle work on/with you. You don’t see what you don’t see and sometimes you need help to progress
      2) Focus on inner roadblocks. Where might you be trying to use hope to replace the hard work of inner change.
      3) Deal with the feelings as feelings and not predictions. It is important not to avoid the difficult ones but to work them through.
      4) If what you are doing isn’t working get some good advice and try something different. Often it is the one suggestion that you reject that is often the one you should consider. Sometimes dealing squarely with the reality of the moment makes the dream come true.
I am sending you healing now and do our twitter exercises at Lauradayintuit@twitter so that you can use the energy of the whole group for your change

How do you bring up a legitimate concern in an elegant way and find a resolution? I keep having a pattern where someone will do something that I judge as wrong and I have a really hard time listening to them or even believing that a positive resolution can happen. I’ve ended friendships because of this…when I hit a big roadblock with them I bail and don’t trust them.

Sometimes a little space until you cool down is not a bad thing. People are not polarities and relationships are always complex. You are responsible for your own boundaries and presenting them in a way they can be heard. Take time to cool down. Take a good look at what you need to learn from the situation and then come up with a healing resolution. This is not always possible but you will have done your work and your work is all that you are responsible for.
No matter how unpleasant, the situation is your teacher. If you focus on your part and not theirs you will be your own healer. There are some people who are damaging enough that they simply must be avoided (rare) however, even then it is your job to take responsibility so that you can learn.
You are making a lot of big changes in your life and emotions are high. You might want to factor that in! Also, what is their Crisis type and what is yours. How you present information and how they hear it has much to do with type. Do the work my friend. This will one day be your work both as a therapist and an actor! xoxox Laura

    Laura –

I used to enjoy a rich and deep relationship with my intuition. I trusted it and found it to be very accurate. A few years ago, I was diagnosed with Bi-polar Disorder. This diagnosis completely decimated my relationship with my intuition. I couldn’t tell which were intuitive impulses and which of them were the illness. I find losing touch with what I thought was my intuition devastating; it was like losing a dear friend. As far as self-care, I do an excellent job of navigating my illness through meds, therapy, support groups, journaling, and most importantly by censoring myself heavily (except when practicing my arts). However, I miss my “friend” intuition. I miss the comfort of being able to trust myself. Here’s the question: how do I tell the difference between my intuition and my manic impulses? BTW – I am asking the same question of my therapist, so I’m getting help from the psychological side. I’m just trying to discern which is my intuitive and which are my manic/depressive impulses.

When things in my life go wrong I also question my intuition and when I lose my “trust” in it I feel profoundly alone. However, I know from experience that when my intuition is not working to keep my safe it is because my goal is a subconscious one and not a conscious, carefully chosen one. When you have an intuition you should, most of the time, be able to back it up with logic. If you cannot your intuition needs to be examined further. Ask questions such as “what might I be avoiding by holding this idea or belief”, “what is the answer I don’t want to this question and how and why might I be trying to fool myself”, “does this intuition help me build something useful in my life or avoid something necessary?”. Your self care tells me that you are using your intuition very well and perhaps in a new way as you seem to be making the healing moves for your unique brain style (as my friend Mona Lisa would put it). The euphoria and mindless certainty that mania gives us and the “out” depression gives us are not unique to bi-polar disorder. Your old friends are not how you will experience your intuition as you reach a rooted sense of health. The creation of concrete and meaningful goals will be your connection to intuition and the sign that you are using it in your life! Your therapist will be a trusted resource to help you experience your intuition in a new and life affirming way. I am sending you healing now. Great Work! Great Question!

Indeed, old habits are returning and at the worst time possible! I had two meetings today about my project and I did not do well. I am feeling so despondent. It is precisely during such moments that I return to my negative thinking. How do I get back to that feeling of ‘hope’? Thank you, D

The famous old put one foot in front of the other until you get where you want to be. Depression, anxiety, anger or denial are all reactive defaults. Your job now is to use intuition and intellect to know your next move to set things right or the best option for moving on!

hello Laura, mY path has led me to you as I have been praying for guidance on how to fully awaken and TRUST my intuition. How to tell if it’s my intuition that is guiding me to make a big life change or if it’s just my ego being discontent and not accepting my life as is. i’ve alway been very intuitive, but with this dilemma I have been stuck for years not knowing what it all means and not knowing which way to turn. I would love to dive deeper into my intuitive knowing. I feel like it would be great to join the circle! do u think this would be a good start for me? Can you tell how I join?

We all work with the book The Circle and I post daily group intentions on twitter at lauradayintuit@twitter. you can also go on my site and sign up for the newsletter and my Facebook page, which has the cover of How to Rule the World from your Couch on it has a healing list! If you are in New York I do free one hour groups.
It is good to be able to perceive what intuition is telling you and then balance it with good judgement. You want to use all of your resources together for the best outcome. Sometimes taking on a life challenge that you have been avoiding is the best way to engage intuition. Pick one small change that you want to make and work to make it happen. Intuition will organically engage!

Thank you for your always helpful and generous blog and facebook page! I would like to throw out a request for Laura or anyone else having real success with intuitive living and/or energetic healing: do you have advice on the “coming out of the closet” part ? It seems to me that part of what i struggle with is how to “live openly” with my experience of intuition and energetic healing. I don’t intend to proselytize, but it does seem like simply being “true” to my experience, beliefs and understanding can cost me. I would like to be able to be myself, but it doesn’t seem like I have much of a supportive community and I don’t relish facing hostility. How do people find they live comfortably with others and what degree of openess fulfills integrity when it comes to using the techniques of the circle, “couch”, or energetic healing modalities? There just don’t seem to be that many “freindlys” around me.
Thanks for any help and insight

If you don’t want to go out on a limb use the vocabulary that your community uses for the exchange of energy and insight. Some common words for intuition: Gut instinct, inner wisdom, innate understanding….. for healing; Prayer, support, energy exchange, spiritual nurturing…. every community has their own. I remember going to retreats for the Charismatic healing movement in the Catholic church when I was in my twenties where people were “slain in the spirit”, there is a tradition of intuition and healing hidden in almost every practice. Find a language that suits!
      Warmly,

Sometimes I feel that my NR is coming soooo slowly. I was thinking about it today and had an epiphany. I think I spend so much time focusing on NOT having my NR yet, of seeing so many others who have what I want, that I am creating loss and emptiness and strong sad emotions as a result. I am magnitizing what I don’t want instead ! I would like your thoughts on this, please. How can one get out of such a deep mental groove and pattern ? How can I put my energy on abundance not loss, when loss is my comfort zone and my habit ? I have just realized that this is a huge internal obstacle…

Thank you so much Laura! xoxo

Although your own intuition about yourself is better than mine I think that you have been dealing with internal and external roadblocks in order to be able to really live your New Reality. I said something to a client in a session yesterday that rings true for you. When you engage with someone ask yourself “am I willing to trade my destiny to be a part of theirs?”. I think this has been the element that has held you back. In a good union you don’t have to make that exchange and I think that all of the energy zappers, internal and external, have popped up at the same time for you to address and, the good news is, you are doing it! Not easy but lifesaving.

I feel like synchronicity is where I am struggling. My inner roadblocks are (for the mot part) healing, coherence is doing fine (I found a way to integrate all of my desires into my new reality, I am very clear about my new reality but… no synchronicity is happening (yet!). It’s got to the point where the lull is making my anxiety act up and even worse, my doubts/depression. I just read your twitter exercise that said “allow synchronicity to do it’s work” so I thought this would be a good issue to bring up on the blog just in case anyone else has this issue. I feel like once synchronicity happens, everything will fall into place. Like, one small thing can bring about my new reality. A domino effect, that is what I need
