Jennifer has been a licensed clinical social worker for over 20 years
and has worked in outpatient clinics, hospitals, group homes, and
school settings. She is currently in private practice where she
provides both short and long term psychotherapy for adults,
adolescents, and children. When appropriate for young children, she
utilizes play therapy to work through issues that a young patient is
unable to explore verbally.
After earning her MSW from New York University’s School of
Social Work in 1995, she worked in a variety of settings including the
Child Guidance Center of Southern CT, The School Based Health
Center at Dolan Middle School, and the Sexual Assault Crisis Center
in Stamford, CT. Throughout these settings she worked with a variety
of populations and has successfully treated people experiencing a
variety of psychiatric issues and relational difficulties.
With the birth of her second child, who was born with cerebral palsy,
she became active in the special needs community helping to support
other families who have children with special needs. She has led
therapeutic support groups for parents as well as siblings of children
with special needs. Jennifer brings to her work both her professional
expertise and also her personal experience as a parent navigating
the challenging world of special needs.
Along with her clinical experience, it is her dedication, genuine
compassion, and use of humor that add to Jennifer’s approachable
